Children's Mental Health week 2026

Banana Moon Chipping Norton enjoyed a variety of activities that supported Children's Mental Health week 2026. Ranging from talking about feelings and emotions using the 'Colour Monster' book to help with this, to a foot spa with rose petals and lavender to a relaxation area where they were encouraged to use breathing techniques.

The theme this year was 'This is my Place'. We know that our sense of belonging as individuals, in our friendships, in school, and in communities plays a vital role in our mental health and wellbeing.

To know our place and really feel part of our environment is a basic human need. It can have powerful and long-lasting impacts in lots of areas of our lives, including our physical and mental health, education, employment and relationships. When we feel that we belong, it empowers us to contribute to the world and make a real difference.

The staff create such wonderful bonds with the children helping to give them a sense of belonging, the activities we provide are based on children's interests and the environments support our children and families.

Looking forward to next year when we will support this fabulous cause again, but Mental Health awareness is not saved for one week a year it's all year round here at Banana Moon Chipping.
